My first Baptiste Yoga class was with Baptiste teacher Arjay Parker about 17 years ago just after the birth of our daughter. I literally scheduled my life around going to those classes. One day I mentioned to her I was considering going to a Baptiste "bootcamp" and she told me to go to teacher training. Three years later, my husband Sean and I went to Level One. I was an Emergency Department nurse and I never imagined that I would teach yoga, but I did at Arjay's studio. The next year we went to Level 2 and we began teaching at another studio. The next year we went to Level 3 and became part owners of Marin Power Yoga, located in Marin County California, with Jamie and Amy Ginsberg . Fast forward another year and half: I no longer nurse and Sean and I own the first Baptiste Partnership Studio. The moral of the story is that Baptiste Yoga has taught me that anything is possible, as long as I keep doing the work and showing up. I am a 200 hour Certified Baptiste Teacher and love showing and sharing with others what’s possible when they do the work and show up. When I am not doing yoga, I am hanging out with our 17-year-old daughter, Skylar and our new puppy. We can often be found eating, watching Grey’s Anatomy, snowboarding, shopping, mountain biking or simply doing nothing.
